Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Free Image Scaler ("we" or "us" or "our") operates the website freeimagescaler.com. The site is run by Karan Gupta, Delhi, India. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service and the choices you have associated with that data.
2. Information Collection
Free Image Scaler is a client-side image processing tool. We collect minimal information. When you use our service, we do not collect or store:
- Your images or any data from your images
- Personal identification information
We do use cookies for advertising, which is described in section 4 below. Nothing about the images you process is ever collected, transmitted or stored; that part is unchanged and is enforced by how the tools are built, not by policy alone.
If you use our contact form, the information you voluntarily enter (name, email address, and message) is sent to us solely to respond to your inquiry, and is not used for marketing or shared with advertisers.
3. How We Process Data
All image processing happens directly on your device in your browser. Your images never leave your computer. We do not upload, store, transmit, or share any images you process with our tool.
The image upscaler, cropper, compressor, QR generator, background remover and metadata remover all work this way. Two of them need extra files to run their AI on your device, and your browser downloads these the first time you use the tool: the image upscaler loads the TensorFlow.js engine and its upscaling model from the jsDelivr content network (cdn.jsdelivr.net), and the background remover loads the ONNX Runtime engine from jsDelivr and its AI model (about 88 MB, or about 115 MB for the sharper model used on computers that support WebGPU) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Your browser keeps these files in its cache so they aren't downloaded on every visit. Like any request for a file, these downloads let the provider see your IP address and browser type, but they contain no image or image data. You can remove the cached model at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
4. Cookies, Advertising and Third-Party Services
Besides advertising, we use two outside services: Formspree, which delivers the messages you send through our contact form, and Google Analytics, which counts visits and pages viewed so we can see which tools and guides people use. Each has its own privacy policy.
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also read more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google’s partner sites page, and about advertising cookies generally at Google’s advertising technologies page.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, advertising and analytics cookies are only set after you consent. The choice is offered in Google's consent message, which appears on your first visit, and you can change or withdraw it at any time through the privacy and cookie settings link that the message adds to the page.
5. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because our tools process images locally in your browser rather than collecting or storing data, there is generally no personal data for us to gather regardless of the user's age.
6. Your Rights
Because the tools run entirely on your device, we hold no images and no account data about you. For advertising cookies, you can withdraw consent or opt out of personalised ads at any time as described in section 4. If you have contacted us through the contact form, you can ask at any time what information we hold and request its deletion.
7. Security
Since all processing happens on your device, your images are inherently secure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page.
9. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through our contact form. You can also email contact@freeimagescaler.com.
